On April 10, the Nevada girls JV golf team played Johnston at ICCC, and on April 11, the varsity girls golf team played Ankeny Centennial at Briarwood.
Coach Lawler felt good after both meets, but what caused the most worry was not knowing exactly how the team would do since it is early in the season, it was their first JV meet, and there were some people who had never played before.
Unfortunately, the JV team lost their meet to Johnston. On the bright side, Courtney Milam shot her personal best of 58.
On April 11, lthough Nevada was the only school that was not in the large class, Nevada managed to place 4th at Briarwood against Ankeny Centennial with Emma Griffin earning 9th place as an individual medalist. Another highlight of the meet was that at least one person did 15 or more strokes better than the previous meet.
As a young team, everyone is trying to get better, but their long-term goal is to make a run at the state tournament.
