On March 29, the Nevada varsity boys soccer team played Ballard in Huxley with a final score of 8-2, Nevada.
Nevada did a great job of passing and controlling the ball. They also had their positioning on point. On the scoring side, the boys converted around 50% of their shots on goal, 9/17.
On the defensive end, the Cubs had a great game and only gave up two goals. Dennis Garcia, Jack Cahill, and Henry Nelson played a very solid first game on the back line. These three had not played together but did a great job of slowing down attacks by Ballard.
“With scoring eight goals in a game, there were multiple big plays, but Carter Bremer’s long shot from 30 yards out stands out,” said Coach Todd Sampson.
“We need to work on continuing to improve our ball handling and passing. We need to be better from a defensive perspective and work on marking sooner in transition situations,” said Coach Sampson.
