Lori Stephenson is a middle school girls track coach. She is also a volleyball coach and teacher in the Nevada Community School District. She coached for four years in early 90’s before kids her were born. She got back into coaching eight years ago because Patrick, her son, didn’t want her help with track, but she still felt that she had knowledge that could help others.
During high school, Coach Stephenson was in track, cross country, volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. She also ran track for three years at Simpson.
Coach Stephenson feels it is fun to see the individual growth that the kids make, and she is always trying to learn more about running and the field events. She loves track because the kids really get to see what their depths are, and it really test them as an individual. Plus, it’s fun to see them work through their challenges and learn about themselves.
