The freshmen girls basketball team played against Gilbert on Friday, February 2. It was the girls’ last game of the season, and they had an amazing win of 26-19.
In the first half they weren’t playing too well. The Cubs were down 15-2. As they got into the second half, they started to play better.
“We played better defense, we rebounded better, and our overall effort was better,” said Coach Scott Uthe. “The girls ended up out-scoring the Tigers 24-4 in the second half.”
Aubrey Gibson was the leading scorer with 12 points.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the effort and determination shown by this team,” said Coach Uthe.
