Benjamin Rima and Kody Kruschwitz, two of the boys on the JV boys basketball team, answered a few questions about their game on Thursday, December 21, which they played against Newton.
Ben said, “We played much better in the 2-4th quarters and once we found out who their main scorer was.”
Kody said “We ended up losing, but we played pretty well as a team.” Though the game was lost 34-39, the boys played hard and had a great defensive system.
Nevada was also strong when it came to rebounding and transition. They were aggressive and got a lot of rebounds. Another strong point was their zone defense. Newton was flustered, and turned the ball over often
The team could work on finishing at the hoop, and calling out the screens. They also could use some work on pressuring the ball more on the zone, and guarding the high post. Ben and Kody hope, for the next game, that they have a tough defense and do well at finishing at the rim. They also hope to play faster on defense and have quicker movements.
