On December 15, the Nevada varsity girls basketball team clashed with Greene County. The night ended with a sweep by Nevada, final score Nevada-45, Greene County-21.
“Overall, we played okay, said Coach Tony Neubauer. “Our defense was okay for the most part. We had a really good first half. The second half we let up a little bit, which caused some sloppy play at times. But overall, it’s really tough to complain about a 24 point win.”
Lexy Koudelka had a nice night scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Hattie Rhodes had 7 points, Kacie Rewerts 6 points, and Amanda Fortmann 5 points.
“We need to keep working on taking care of the basketball and being able to score effective in transition and in the half court setting,” said Neubauer. “We go into break 8-1 overall and 6-0 in the HOIC.”
After winter break, the girls face off against the Saydel Eagles on Friday, January 5 in Des Moines.
