The 7th grade football team won against PCM, 28-27, in a close game on Thursday, October 2nd.
The Cubs were behind late in the 4th quarter on defense when Drake Hinson was able to force a fumble and Austin Waldera recovered it. Then the offense went to work and scored the go ahead touchdown in the final minute on a one yard run by Hinson. The game was sealed on an interception in the final seconds by Kole Beving.
“It was a hard fought and very physical game that went back and forth,” said Coach Chris Hinson. “Waldera was our workhorse on both offense and defense. He got the bulk of our carries on offense and racked up a bunch of yards on tough runs. He also also added two touchdowns on kickoff returns.”
Isaac Williams also had a very good, all around game and added a touchdown run in the first quarter.
To sum it up the coaches are very proud of the whole team,
“They worked very hard and showed a lot of heart to come from behind and win the game,” said Coach Hinson.
