On Thursday, May 2, the Nevada varsity boys soccer team played at home against Iowa Falls-Alden. Entering the game IFA was on a win streak, winning three of their last four game. Nevada stopped that streak with a wonderful offensive game. They won 6-1.
Nevada boys varsity soccer had a lot of offensive possessions against IFA. Leading the offensive charge was Jose Buenrrostro. Buenrrostro took seven shots and four of them were on goal and two of them scored. Helping lead the offensive charge was also Anthony Ellis. Ellis had five shots and four of them were on goal and three of them scored. Finishing the offensive assault was Taylor Maiefski. Maiefski had two shots, one on goal and one goal.
While the Cubs had a great offensive performance, the defense also played well. Keepers Gage Maiefski and Max Hoffman each played one half. Gage had three saves, and Max had nine saves.
Upon completion of the game Nevada had won six of their last seven games. Nevada’s last opponent in the regular season will be at Newton on Friday, May 17.
