On Monday, April 22, the Nevada JV boys soccer team traveled to North Polk to take on the Comets for a HOIC match up. The chilly conditions led to a low scoring tie at 0-0.
A possible reason for Nevada’s offensive struggles was with handling the ball. The ball handling miscues resulted in the ball not getting past midfield consistently. On the defensive side, Nevada stood strong and did not allow them to score.
Coach Matt Myers was unavailable to comment about the game but center midfielder Keegan Jones reflected, “Within our struggles with losing players in the game and not being able to keep the ball, we still played hard. Things went well even though we didn’t get the win.”
The Cubs are hoping for a win against Gilbert’s JV on Saturday, May 11.
