The Nevada girls track team ran at Saydel on Monday, April 22. The Nevada team competed against Indianola, Bondurant-Farrar, Gilbert, North Polk, Montezuma, Ballard, DSM North, Roland-Story, Kuemper, and Saydel. They ran really well, and there were many personal records for the night.
The shuttle hurdle team got a PR (personal record/best) with a time of 1:15.74. The girls in the group that obtained a new school record were Samara Sharp, Taylor Conrad, Mady Farmer, and Avery Mather.
Elie Tuhn a had personal best in open 800 with a time of 2:43.46 and also in the 1500 with a time of 5:28.09. The 4×800 of Gabby Sampson, Eleanor Elliott-Rude, Madison Davis, and Tuhn also had a PR with a time of 11:23.22. Bailey Crain threw 97-05 in the discus and Madison McGaffin had a throw of 81-10. Both were PRs.
“We had a few athletes get their PR at Saydel, but the biggest highlight was the shuttle hurdle team breaking the school record,” said Coach Ted Johnson.
The team hopes to earn more personal records and score well at their next meet on Monday, April 29, at North Polk.
