The Nevada middle school boys track team had a good night at Nevada, April 16. The 8th grade team placed third overall and the 7th grade team placed fourth at the Cub Relays.
The 8th grade team had a few top placings. Billy Gibbons placed second in the 400 meter dash. Carson Rhodes placed first in discus with Nate Anderson right behind him in second. The 4×200 meter relay team and the 4×100 meter relay team earned second place.
The team consisted of Aidan Freeman, Edgar Cabrera, Mauricio Garcia, and Karter Beving. The 7th grade 4×800 meter relay team placed first and set a new school record with a time of 10.30.60. The relay team consisted of Rowan Steele, Rhett Harter, Kyle Kingsbury, and Carter Holland.
Steele earned second place in high jump. Steele, Jackson Reid, Zach Deveno, and Carter Holland scored second place in the 4×200 meter relay. The 4×100 relay team also received second place, and that group was Steele, Deveno, Rhett Harter, and Carter Holland.
“We were very pleased with both teams’ effort on the night and had many outstanding performances,” said Coach Andrew Kleeman.
The boys ran great and are hoping to get some more top placings in their next meet at South Hamilton.
