On Monday, April 2, the JV girls soccer team took on the Bondurant-Farrar Blue Jays in Bondurant. The score of the game was 1-0, Cubs.
“We were pleased with girls’ performance for the first game of the year,” said Coach Mark Rhodes. “The breakthrough goal came in the first half when Alex Arnaud gained control of a Bondurant-Farrar goal kick and was able to attack the goal and put the ball in the back of the net.”
The Cubs played into the wind the second half, forcing then to keep the ball on the ground. Nevada controlled the ball for long stretches of the game. This allowed the Cubs to take a grand total of five shots on the goal.
Alex Arnaud scored the only goal of the night to put the Cubs ahead of the Blue Jays. Nevada’s great defense held off Bondurant and didn’t allow any points.
Nevada’s JV girls soccer travel to Collins-Maxwell on Friday, April 19.
