Unfortunately, the Cubs Varsity Wrestling team wasn’t victorious in their first wrestling meet Tuesday night, November 28, at Knoxville. The final score of the meet was Knoxville 50 – Nevada 30.
Going into the meet, the Cubs’ mindset was aggressive and focused. The seniors kept the younger athletes focused and ready to compete. Cale Dumbaugh did really well in the first period scoring a fall, and Emilio Saldana won with a pin. Coach Ferguson also mentioned that Luke Durkop had improved well since last season.
One way the coaches would like to improve is to have more kids wrestle and for them to continue lifting in the off season.
