The Nevada freshmen boys put the hammer down in Friday night’s game against Gilbert, winning 71-41. The freshmen started out with a ton of energy and carried it well throughout the game.
“Our big goal was to start strong with energy,” said Coach Jon Kruse. “ It was our best start of the year.”
In the first quarter, Nevada came out and dominated with the score being 24-10. The Cubs went into the half leading by a significant margin.
Finishing the third quarter, Nevada was still on a roll with a 68-31 lead. In the final quarter of play, Nevada finished off a spectacular winning 71-41.
Nevada’s leading scorers on the night were James Edwards with 17, Ty Dittmer with 15, and Colin Memmer with 13.
With Friday night’s win, it moves Nevada freshmen to 9-1 overall and undefeated in the conference, with a 6-0 record. They look to improve on their record as they take on Newton tonight in Nevada.
