On December 18, Nevada’s varsity wrestling competed against three different schools at home. Nevada fell to West Marshall and Gilbert, but was able to pull through with a win against Boone.
Against West Marshall, Cale Dumbaugh pinned his opponent in 45 seconds in the 132 weight class. Holden Fry was also able to pin his West Marshall opponent in the 220 weight class in 1:47. Nevada ended up falling to West Marshall, 36-48.
Theo Skelton was able to get a pin in 34 seconds in the 145 weight class against Gilbert. In the 138 weight class, Noah Nusbaum got a pin in 2:22 seconds. In the end, Gilbert went home with a win over Nevada, 30-54.
Against Boone, Jay Calentine had the only pin in 2:25 in the 182 weight class. Boone had a total of six forfeits which helped Nevada win, 42-39.
Overall, Nevada is happy with their win and is excited to compete in their next meet on January 5, at Ames.
