On Tuesday, December 4th, 2018, Nevada 7th grade girls basketball team played PCM in PCM middle school. Nevada girls won 21-15 and 16-6
At the start of the first game, Nevada was on a 7-0 run and held on to the end to win the game. The team’s record is 4-3.
“We are getting a lot of good looks at the basket, but we just can’t get the ball to fall in the hoop,” said Coach Corey Long. “The girls need to work on squaring up to the basket and going up strong when we improve on this, we will score a lot more points.
The team won the B game, too. The girls played well during the game.
“The girls also did a nice job playing defense in this game as well. As a team, we take pride in working hard on defense and get excited when we can make it hard for the other team to score,” said Coach Long. “Overall the girls are doing a good job running the offense and getting looks at the easy basket. We just need to learn how to finish at the hoop better.”
The next game for the Cubs is on Monday, December 17, at home against North Polk.
