The JV girls basketball team started off well against Roland-Story, leading 15-14 midway through the second quarter. But they allowed back to back threes from the Norsemen and a couple of costly turnovers that resulted in trailing 19-28 at half. Unfortunately, they, weren’t able to recover and ended up losing 40-60.
This was the second game in the first four where Nevada was unable to connect on a three point basket.
“The girls are playing hard and effort is there, but we need to find shooters to stop some long scoring draughts and extend the defenses,” said Coach Mark Hersom
Freshman post player Alex Arnaud led all of Nevada’s scorers with 16 and sophomore Taylor Conrad netted 10. Others who scored were junior Meredith Harter (five), junior Erica Sporrer (five), freshman Tessa Borwick (two), and one each from freshman Savannah Skaggs and sophomore Eleanor Elliott-Rude.
