On Thursday, November 29, the 7th grade girls basketball team took on the Norsemen of Roland-Story. The Cubs fell short, losing 5-15.
The Cubs A team struggled on offense because the Norse were pressing hard.
“After the first half, we learned how to handle the ball much better, but we had too many turnovers,” said Coach Corey Long.
The Cub defense was strong, too. Holding a team to fifteen points is impressive.
The Cubs B team did great, winning with a score of 26-22. They played with more confidence, and they played stronger on both sides. The Cubs were leading at halftime, 14-12. They kept up the hard work throughout the whole game and went on to take the win.
The Cubs will keep improving on rebounding and all aspects of the game.
The Cubs play again on Monday, December 10, against Gilbert at home.
