On Friday, November 30, the Nevada varsity boys took on Roland-Story at home. The Cubs fell short of the Norsemen in overtime, 60-62.
The Cubs starters for the game were seniors Jacob Sanders, Brayden Bottorf, Devin See and juniors Kody Kruschwitz and Tyler Sansgaard
The Cubs’ top scorer, Kody Kruschwitz, had 19 points in the game and led the Cubs in steals with three. Junior Tyler Sansgaard had a total of 17 points. Senior Devin See had six points on the game with seven total rebounds.
The Cubs scored eight points in the first quarter and were down to the Norseman by three, 8-11. The Cubs had a great second-quarter run, dropping 21 points and going ahead of the Norseman 28-26.
They continued the momentum after half time, outscoring the Norsemen in the third 15-7. The Norsemen outscored the Cubs in the fourth quarter, 9-20, tying the game at 53 points. The game then went into overtime where the Cubs fell 60-62.
The Cubs as a team shot 35% from the three point on the night. They also shot 57% from the field against the Norsemen.
The Nevada boys will be traveling to Saydel on Tuesday night, December 4.
