On Saturday, December 1, our Nevada Cubs Dance and Colorguard teams had a terrific day at their state competition!
The Cubs Dance team participated in three routines and received Division 1 ratings in all of them. Not only did they dance really well, they also got awards for academic excellence and volunteer hours.
Their novelty routine, where they were dressed as sailors and pirates, was ranked in fifth place. Their contemporary routine about suicide awareness got sixth place. Their last routine was a prop routine based off of the one and only Greatest Showman movie. That routine got a rank of fourth.
Our Cubs had an amazing day and held their own given the fact that they were competing against larger schools.
The Colorguard performed on Saturday as well. They performed their two minute routine for a panel of judges. The judges looked for precision and creativity in both the performance and design of the routine.
Nevada competed in the Class 2A Colorguard category and received a Division 1 rating Their score also placed them in eighth place out of a 12 team category.
