On Tuesday, November 20, the freshman girls basketball team started the season off with an easy win at Boone. The Cubs only played two quarters but easily demolished the Toreadors 30-0.
Freshman Elie Tuhn was the leading scorer for the Cubs with nine. Mayzi Weig was close behind with six points.
The energy in the gym was electric for the Cubs.
“The kids wanted to get out and play,” said Coach Scott Uthe. “In games like this, I have to hold them back a little bit, but I’m glad that I have to.”
The Cubs did an astounding job on defense and rebounding the ball. The Cubs had multiple offensive rebounds, which led to many second chance points.
The girls take on Roland-Story Friday, November 30, at home.
