On Tuesday, September 11th, the Nevada Cubs played against the North Polk Comets at North Polk. The Cubs A team did a superb job the first game, with a 21-11 victory over the Comets. After the first game the serving didn’t go as well as before, which led the Cubs to lose the rest of the matches that night. The Cubs barely lost the second game, 18-21, and the 3rd, 15-21.
“After the first game, our serving went cold, and we struggled to get the ball over the net,” said Coach Corey Long.
The Cubs B Team did very well, but couldn’t quite manage to take home the W. They lost their first game 15-21, but served particularly well. The second game, however, was a very close one, ending in a 22-24 result. The serving for this game was also good. The final game of the night for the B team was a 18-21 loss for the Cubs.
The C team had a decent night, hanging in tight with the Comets after the first game. The Cubs lost 9-21, possibly because of some first game jitters. The second game, however, was much closer, with a 17-21 loss. The final game was the best of the C teams’ night. With a close match all the way up until the final minutes, the Cubs lost 18-21 to the Comets.
Overall Coach Long enjoyed the night and said the Cubs did a very good job throughout all teams.
