On September 10th, the 7th grade Nevada volleyball team played a great set of games against PCM. The Cubs earned themselves some hard fought wins in the season opener against the Mustangs.
To start the night, the Cubs A team lost their first set 18-21 but bounced back with a 21-13 win in the second set. The third set showed Nevada was deserving of the win, 21-15.

To finish of the night, the Cubs C team also lost their first set 10-21, and then lost the second set 15-21 to the Mustangs.
Coach Cory Long said, “Over all we saw lots of growth from the first set of the night until the last. We still need to work on moving the ball more and being more consistent in our passing and serving game.”
The Nevada girls improved throughout the night and it showed with the final scores.
Coach Long said, “As a team, we did a great job improving on our play as the night went on. You could tell that this was the first game for the girls. We struggled the first set with each team and after that we seemed more comfortable and played well”.
The Cubs will next take on the Gilbert Tigers at home on Monday, September 17.
