On September 6th, the Nevada varsity volleyball team played at home against Roland-Story for their first conference game. It was tough fought, but Roland-Story ended up with the win in 4 sets.
Coach Stephenson said, “The girls had trouble with ball control and Roland served them out of system which really affected the speed and cadence of the game.”
“The match ended with a tough loss 1-3. We played scrappy, coordinated volleyball, but made just a few too many unforced errors that killed the momentum,” said Coach Stephenson
The first set ended 20-25, the second 22-25, the third 27-25, and the final set 18-25.
“With this match we still showed great improvement, our blockers are really speeding up their reading of the game. Mikayla Long had seven outstanding blocks and the team had 17 overall. We had some good hitters as well, Kacie Rewerts led us with 12 kills, Morgan Tupper had seven, and Sydney Mosinski had six,” said Coach Stephenson.
Coach Stephenson also mentioned, “We were excited to add Jonny Sneiderman to our coaching staff this week. He adds a lot of college level coaching and volleyball insight and should be great for our program. We wish to make him feel very welcomed and are glad to have him.”
