Nevada High School’s JV football team is hoping to have a full schedule this season. So far the Cubs are 1-2 on the season. They have already had one game cancelled, but the JV Head Coach Justin Kuethe is hoping they can get a mixture of JV and freshman teams that will play them so they can fill their schedule. It is important to get as many games scheduled as possible so the kids are getting as much field time as can be made available for them.
The JV team has about 30 kids out the freshman and JV players are combined. Both groups are hoping to focus on fundamentals and working as a team so they can have more success on the field.
This is Kuethe’s first year at Nevada, so he and the kids are still working on being comfortable with each other and building the bond between them.
“I really like Nevada so far it’s been a good experience for me,” said Kuethe.
The kids have been taking practice time seriously and pushing themselves really hard during practice to prepare for their games. There are still some things that need to be corrected and improved, but they’re using their practice time wisely and making themselves better.
The team travels to Jewell tonight, Monday, September 30, to play South Hamilton.
