On Thursday, May 23rd, the boys golf team drove up to Fort Dodge with hopes to finish the first day of a two day state meet in first place.
Last year the Cubs placed second at the State Tournament, they came in with a chip on their shoulder this year, and they proved themselves. The Cubs finished the first day with a score of 303 to put them in first place.
The boys were waiting to play their second day of the tournament when they received news that the rest of the tournament was cancelled due to excessive rain.
With the Cubs finishing first place the first day, they were announced as the 2019 3A State Champions.
Harold Dobernecker placed 6th individually in the meet, shooting a 74, Kyle Linder and Tyler Sansgaard tied for 8th place, each shooting 75, Dylan Sporrer tied for 16th place, shooting a 76, James Carsrud tied for 34th, shooting an 81 and Caden Jones tied for 45th shooting an 84.
Congratulations to Head Coach Ryan Brown and the players for an impressive season and receiving the 2019 3A State Champion title.
