The Nevada boys varsity soccer team won their game against Kuemper on Tuesday, May 20th, 3-1.
Jose Buenrrostro scored with 20 minutes left to get Nevada on the board. This was his 18th goal for the season, breaking the single season goal record at Nevada. Devin See followed that up with a great shot from outside the 18 three minutes later to put Nevada up 2-0. Taylor Maiefski finished the scoring with a beautiful finish on a break away run.
Coach Todd Sampson said, “Our team played a great game on Monday. We knew going into it that it would be a tough game against a quality opponent. We had already played Kuemper twice this season and were able to win both of those, but beating any team three times in a season is tough. We told the guys at half time that it’s just a matter of time and our shots were going to eventually find the back of the net.”
The boys are done for the season. They are sad to be losing some great senior players, but they can’t wait to see what next season brings.
