The Nevada middle school boys track team competed at Boone on Tuesday, May 7. The Cubs had a productive night and placed fourth overall in the team standings.
Nevada had one gold medal winner, Rhett Harter. Harter won the 800 meter race in 2:30.72 and also finished second in the high jump at 4’8”. The other silver medal winner was the 8th grade 4×800 meter relay team of Joseph Dodson, Owen Freeman, Nick Frideres, and Austin Neus.
Third place winners were Zach Deveno in the long jump with a jump of 14’ 7.5”, the eighth grade 4×200 meter team of Sam Betting, Aidan Freeman, Edgar Cabrera, and Karter Beving with a time of 2:03.45, and the 4×400 meter team of Aidan Freeman, Connor Barfels, Griffin Tamburo, and Tony Huynh also got third in 4:50.61.
Coach Andy Kleeman also was pleased with the 800M medley. The group set a new school record with a time of 1:48.75. The relay team consisted of Aidan Freeman, Edgar Cabrera, Karter Beving, and Billy Gibbons.
The Boone meet was the last meet of the season for the middle school boys track team.
