The Nevada boys track team competed at Roland-Story on April 25.
Joven Nelson won gold in the 100 meter dash.
In the 200 meter dash, Caeden DaSilva finished second with a time of 23.1.
Carter Franson got third in the 400 with a time of 54.7.
Jacob Sanders got second in the 800 meters with 02:12.6.
Sam Abraham got second in the 110 meter hurdles 16.21.
Dalton Baker ran a 10:37.4 in the 3200 meter run.
Sam Abraham jumped 20-06.00 in the long jump, landing him in second.
Ethan Wild threw 108-01 in the discus .
Coach John Pelzer said “We had a great team performance at Madrid, finishing second out of 8 teams. Joven Nelson, Caeden DaSilva, and Carter Franzen were strong in the sprints finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 100, 200, and 400 respectively. Dalton Baker was second in the 3200. Joven Nelson won the 400 low hurdles.
“A highlight of the night was the 4×200 meter relay team of Caeden DaSilva, Sam Abraham, Jakob Strottman, and Joven Nelson. They ran a season-best time of 1:31.87. I’m very pleased where we are at after this meet!”
The boys next meet is in the state meet at Drake Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
