On Monday, April 8th, the boys track team traveled to Norwalk for a coed meet. The teams that Nevada competed against were Norwalk, North Polk, DCG, Grinnell, South Tama Country, Knoxville, Winterset, and Carlisle.
Sam Abraham won the long jump with a distance of 20’6”.
Abraham commented, “Overall it was a pretty good meet. It was really windy which was a struggle for some races but the guys pushed through and put up good times. There were a few guys that stepped up where the team needed them, and ran races they’ve never ran before.”
Dalton Baker places second in the 3200 meter with a time of 10:43.08.
Other notables for the evening included, Joven Nelson came in second for the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.22.
Nevada won the 4×200 with a time of 1:32.59.
Nelson won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.85.
Baker placed third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:02.85.
Nevada placed second in the 4×200 with a time of 44.81.
The boys travel to Madrid on Tuesday, April 16 for their next meet.
