Struggles during the second and third quarter proved the undoing of the JV girls basketball team against North Polk on January 24. The Cubs lost 21-4.
Both teams competed very evenly during the first quarter. The Cubs were down to the Comets by the score 5-8. The second quarter was a struggle for the Cubs as they were outscored 15-4.
Coach Scott Uthe observed, “We had a hard time rebounding the ball and gave too many second chances.”
The Cubs were not able to make many halftime adjustments leading to them being outscored 12-4 in the third quarter. The Cubs got on the right track in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Comets 9-4.
The leading scorer for the Cubs was Tessa Browick with six points. Kayla Dunson contributed five points.
The JV Girls Basketball team has concluded their season and looks forward to playing next year.
