The 9th grade girls basketball team played at Roland-Story on Monday, and fell just short in a very hard fought game. The final score was 32-28 Roland-Story.
The Cub girls played well the whole game, but came up short in the final few minutes. Nevada’s leading scorer was sophomore Kayla Dunson, who scored an impressive 16 points.
A main factor to the close game for the Cubs was their defense. The girl’s full court press was able to cause a lot of turnovers.
Unfortunately they were a couple stops short of a win.
With the game coming down to the wire in the 4th Mayzi Weig was able to hit a basket to tie the game up with 1:00 remaining.
The contest really came down to the end in a very hard fought game.
Coach Dan Tuhn said, “This was our final game of the year, and I was really happy with how the girls came together. We had some some obstacles to overcome with a new coach, and the girls bought in and gave us everything they had.”
