On January 25th, the Nevada JV boys basketball team played North Polk in Nevada. The boys ended up losing in a hard game 41-47.
The top scorers for the Cubs were Chase Lycke with 10 points, Jarret Fredin with nine, and James Edwards with eight.
Even though the Cubs lost, the game was a real eye opener for them. It really showed what needed more attention in practice. Defense was one of the things that the boys really couldn’t get to 100% that night. The boys never gave North Polk a comfortable lead, and by halftime they were only down by seven.
“Our defense needed a lot of work,” said player Connor Schnettgoecke. “I feel like if we were more physical at the start we would have won.”
The JV boys play again on February 11th at Boone against the Toreadors.
