The Nevada 9th grade girls basketball team beat North Polk 34-32, on Friday, January, 25 at home.
Kayla Dunson led scorers with a total of 15 points. She was also five for seven for free throws. Hannah Waldera was the second highest scorer with 11 points.
The Cubs won the first half of the game 18-15, and ended the game still ahead. They scored 14 points in the second half, making the final score 34-32.
“We won because we worked well together,” said Waldera, “My teammates were unselfish and did what was best for the team for us to win such a close game.”
The Cubs are done with their year. They had a fantastic season, and we can’t wait to see them next year.
