The Nevada boys varsity basketball team beat Greene County 68-60 on Tuesday, January 15th, at home. They had a strong second quarter scoring 20 points compared to Greene County’s 11.
Tyler Sansgaard led the team with 15, while Kody Kruschwitz followed with 14 points. Jack Cahill had a good night with seven rebounds. Ayden Rhodes played one of his best games off the bench scoring 10 points and getting eight rebounds.
“The Greene County game was a great game for us as a team. We played very well together and got a lot of contributions from a lot of different players. The game was a little up and down and times which is to be expected against Greene County,” said Coach Tyler Struck. “They are a team that plays fast and will take quick shots if you let them. I thought we did an outstanding job on their top two shooters, making them take tougher shots and really work for their points. Although both of them scored a decent number, we made them take a lot of shots to do it and were able to stop the rest of the players from getting good looks, too.”
Overall, the boys had a really good night.
They play next on Friday, February 1, at Gilbert.
