On Tuesday, January 15, the 7th grade boys basketball C and D teams both walked away with a victory against North Polk for their opening games. It was the first away game for the boys, and the final score for the C team was 24-19, and the D team ended with a stunning 30-15.
In the first quarter of the C team’s game, they were down 1-4 but made a comeback in the second quarter leading 10-4. In the fourth quarter the 7th grade boys used their press to preserve their lead and ended with a win.
Breshaun Williams was the leading scorer with 16 points. Following him was Titus Hall with five points and the third scorer was Jackson Reid with three points.
In the D team’s game, they came out of the gates fast and were ahead 10-2 in just the first quarter. They continued to have the same offensive production, and at half time the score was 20-6.
Carmieo Quezada was the D team’s leading scorer with 12 points. Second top scorer was Mason Herrold with six points. Carter Holland and Ryan Brown both scored four points. Garrett Barber had two points.
“This was a great opportunity for the C and D players to get some first time game experience for many of the players,” said Coach Cary Thompson.
Tuesday’s wins for the seventh grade boys basketball team was a great start to their promising season.
