On Tuesday, December 18th, Nevada played Greene County at the Wells Fargo stadium in Des Moines. The Cubs beat the Rams 77-69. The Cubs have won four games and lost five during this season.
At half time Nevada was down 34-44 but the team was able to come back and win the game. During the first half, Nevada had a lot of unforced turnovers, meaning the passes were sloppy and the other team was able to steal the ball.
Coach Tyler Struck said, “The game was a great experience for the kids to get to play in Wells Fargo. I was very happy about the team’s mental approach, because we were able to come back from behind and win.”
During the second half, Nevada was able to come back, but the shots around the rim were not up to their usual standards.
Tyler Sansgaard led Nevada with 31 points, followed by Kody Kruschwitz with 23 points. Tyler also led the team in three pointers, making seven. Kody made two threes.
The team plays tonight, January 4th, at home against Gilbert.
