On Thursday, December 20th, 2018, the Nevada Cubs 7th grade girls basketball team played Roland-Story in Roland. The scores were 10-27 and 29-26.
In the first game, the girls were doing a nice job playing them in the first half and were down only 4-8. In the second half, though, they got into foul trouble and got outscored 19-6.
“On offense, we had a lot of nice looks at the basket, but could not get the shots to go in,” Coach Corey Long said. “On defense, we had a hard time keeping up with Roland-Story’s aggressive offense and could not stop their penetration to the basket.”
In the second game, the girls played much better and did a good job playing aggressively. In the first half, they struggled to score some points, but they did a much better job offensively in the second half and won the game in the last few seconds by a score of 29-26.
“It was a great way to end the night as well as our season, and it was a fun and exciting game to be part of,” Coach Long said. “We played like a team that second half and moved the ball around well to get some good baskets.”
This was the last game of the season for the 7th grade girls basketball team.
