The 7th grade girls basketball team fought hard against North Polk at home Tuesday, December 17th.
The first team had a hard time scoring, and North Polk came out very strong. The game was held close the first quarter, but in the second the physical North Polk girls took over. The game ended up 8-27.
“We had a lot of nice looks at the basket, but we could not get the shots to fall through the hoop. North Polk’s physical play let them break the game wide open,” said Coach Cory Long.
The second team’s game was very similar to the first game. At half, the Cubs were behind 5-16. North Polk managed to hold their lead and win, 15-24.
“We did come out and won the second half 10-8, so I was pleased with the effort we had to finish the game,” said Coach Long.
The girls play their next and last game of the season Thursday, December 20, at Roland-Story.
