On Monday, December 17th, the Nevada girls 8th grade team played North Polk in Alleman. The girls fell short, losing to the Comets 13-46. After this game their season record is 2-8.
Coach Cary Thompson said, “I was happy with our first and third quarter defense.”
Avery Hinson led her team with eight points. Kaleigh Groat put three points on the board with a three pointer. Natalie Barber scored two points.
Nevada had good dribble penetration, but they were not finding the open player.
The last time they played North-Polk, they lost 8-52, so the team showed progress in both defense and offense.
The girls B team played one half, and they lost 2-13. The girls were only able to play one half due to the numerous injuries and low numbers
The girls play their last game on Thursday, December 20th, in Nevada against the Roland-Story Norsemen.
