The Nevada boys varsity basketball team had a great win over Saydel on December 4. The final score of the game was Cubs 74-Saydel 54.
Some key players from the game were Jacob Saunders, who did a good job defensively which led him to scoring some big baskets, and Devin See who had a lot of rebounds and only missed one shot through the entire game. Devin also ended with 17 points.
“We played pretty well. We made some mistake that were more mental mistakes, but other than that we did a good job,” said Coach Tyler Struck.
The Cubs controlled the tempo of the game, which was really important.
“We need to work on taking care of the ball. Even though we want to play fast, we are turning the ball over too much,” said Coach Struck.
Coach Struck also said, “I was really excited to get a conference road win. I’m proud of how hard the kids played the whole game.
The Cubs play Greene County at Wells Fargo in Des Moines on Tuesday, December 18.
