On Thursday, December 6, the freshman girls basketball team traveled to Indianola to take on the Indians. The Cubs got the win with a score of 19-17.
The defense played great, only allowing 17 points. They locked down in the most important times.
The Cubs were trailing by three going into the fourth quarter. They ran a play for Elie Tuhn, who knocked down a three in the corner to tie it up. They never trailed the rest of the game.
Coach Uthe is looking forward to a lot as the season is progressing.
“We have mixed up the teams a little bit, so we’ll have to get accustomed to playing with different people,” said Coach Uthe.
The Cubs’ next game is at North Polk on Tuesday, December 11.
