On Monday, November 26, the Nevada high school boys JV basketball team played Grundy Center in Nevada, Iowa. Nevada beat Grundy Center, 48-34.
Henry Nelson was their leading scorer with 15 points, Chase Lycke had 10 points, and Myleek Wilkerson had seven points.
During the game, the second quarter was their best quarter because they outscored Grundy Center, 17-8.
“The team played well and played as a team,” said Coach Greg Baethke. “The players also played hard, and they have executed the offense well. On the defensive side they held to the other team from getting 40 points.”
Coach Baethke also said that they need to play a more defensive position, steal the ball more, and confuse the offensive position. They also will work on putting more pressure on the ball and rebounding.
The next game is against Roland-Story at home on Friday, November 30 in the high school at 4:30 p.m.
