The Nevada Cubs girls JV basketball team traveled to face the Toreadors in Boone on Tuesday, November 20th. The girls won in a crushing victory, 43-5. The team had twelve players score, so the win was a full team effort. This win makes their record 1-1.
The top scorers were Katelyn Kingsbury with 10 points mainly coming on making three 3pt shots, and Megan Wessels and Meredith Harter each had six points.
“There wasn’t much to say about this game other than it was nice to have twelve girls score and to bounce back after a tough last second loss at South Hamilton to have something positive going into the Thanksgiving break,” said Coach Mark Hersom. “There’s lots of young talent coming up and looking forward to seeing the team grow and develop as numbers in the upper classes are low and with this young team future Nevada basketball looks promising.”
The girls’ next game is against Grundy Center at home on Monday, November 26th.
