On November 3rd, Noah Nusbaum, Jacob Sanders, and Dalton Baker participated in the Senior All-Star Meet at the DMACC Cross Country Course in Ankeny. It was a very cold and rainy day, but that did not stop these three seniors from hitting their PR’s.
It really helped the three Cubs that the field was stacked with runners from schools all across Iowa and that the pace was quick right off the gun. It was a fairly flat course with two bunny hills at the start and the same loop being repeated twice. As the field jockeyed for position, Dalton and Noah latched on to each other, with Jacob not far behind.
The meet was split into an east team and west team, and the three senior boys were on the east team. The final results were outstanding with Noah and Dalton placing 26th and 27th, and Jacob Sanders placing 51. With a course that is well known for fast times, each runner ran their best time and the effort that they put in really paid off. Noah ran 17:06.1, Dalton ran 17:07, and Jacob 17:43 on the 5K course.
These three seniors have dedicated many hours and time into cross country. It was great that they could end their season on a high note.
