The Nevada Cubs had lost a hard-fought loss against Union LaPorte on Friday October 12. The final score was Union, 23-20.
Nevada was down at the end of the first half by two points. The defense was playing very well and managed to stay on top of the Union offense. The field was in in bad condition because of all the rain that had fallen throughout the week. During the second half, both teams picked it up on offense.
“The weather was really cold, and it affected us during the game. The ball was very slick, so we couldn’t pass as much, and it caused us to do running plays” said sophomore safety Ayden Rhodes.
Regardless, senior wide receiver Andrew Saunders broke the record for the single season receiving yards record during the game.
“Overall this game was one of the best we’ve played in my time as head coach. I’m proud of our effort,” said Coach Kleeman.
