The Nevada 8th grade Cubs managed to walk away with a win against Saydel on October 11, 2018. The final score was 27 – 8.
“The team improved a great deal from the beginning of the year on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, during the season you could see that they continued to get better playing together as a team,” said Coach Greg Baethke. “Even though they lost four games, three of them went down to the very end of the game when they had a chance to win. So I felt the season was a success despite the record.”
The 8th grade Cubs were only able to play three quarters of their game before allowing the 7th grade team on the field due to Saydel’s shortened number of seventh grade players.
The Cubs won the last two games of the season to finish with a record of 2-4.
