On Thursday, October 11, the Nevada freshman volleyball team took on Ames at Nevada’s senior night. Nevada’s freshman team fought hard, but unfortunately lost to Ames in three matches with scores of 24-26, 26-15, and 11-15.
Addisyn Vorm and Shieann Flores stood out on Thursday with their fantastic serving. Maddie Dunham also stood out to coach Abby Hansen. Maddie did well playing smart offense and not letting a ball hit the ground on defense. Mayzi Weig was Nevada’s setter for the Thursday game and helped Nevada by knowing who to set to and when to dump.
Freshman coach Abby Hansen said, “Our team has improved so much this season with not only their skills, but also in communication and giving out more energy. I am very proud of what they accomplished this season and I am excited to see what these girls do next year.”
Nevada’s freshman team is finished for the season, but Nevada’s varsity team will take on their first regional game at home, against North Polk on Wednesday, October 17.
