The Nevada 7th grade football team had a tough challenge when they traveled to Gilbert but they fought hard. They played the Tigers away from home on Thursday, September 27.
The Cubs lost 44-0 against a more physical and aggressive Tigers squad. “Tonight was tough, we’ve played better in different games this year. The players need confidence and need to learn not to give up when things get tough,” said Coach Blake Jobe.
There were several highlights for the Cubs. There was a deep pass to Alek Higgins from Kasin Stevenson early in the contest for the Cubs. Unfortunately, the plays were inconsistent throughout the night. Fumbles and penalties stalled several potential drives.
The Cubs have a lot to work on after this game. They recently lost a key player, Jacob Kounsarath, due to injury. Jacob’s injury will have an impact on the team in the long run. The Cubs will have to play with perseverance for the rest of the season.
