On Thursday, September 27, the seventh grade volleyball team competed at Greene County.
The Cubs’ “A” team won their match, 2-1. The girls overpowered the Rams in the first set beating them 21-19. The second set they fought hard but came up short, losing 17-21. In the deciding set, some dominant serving helped the Cubs blow past the Rams, 21-5.
The “B” team for the Cubs lost the first set 17-21, but came back the next two to defeat the Rams 2-1. The Cubs let the first set slip away. The second and third sets were great games for the Cubs. Serving helped them to a 21-12 and 21-14 win against the Rams.
The “C” team played hard but came up short all three sets.
“We need to keep improving on our serving and passing, ” said Coach Mallory Kane. “We definitely have room to grow.”
The Cubs ended their season with matches against North Polk on Monday, October 8.
